Is there anything I can do to avoid repainting my kitchen?

I bought a house a few months ago and a couple of days ago I decided to start repainting. The kitchen has ceramic tile on the floor, the counter tops, and the wall between the cabinets and the counter. The tile is shades of what appears to be gray, tan, and possibly even a slight mauve undertone (though I can’t be sure). The walls were painted a very pale greenish gray that reminded me of a hospital or mental institution. I was flipping through a home interior magazine, and got the idea to paint my walls a brighter/darker green. I chose Scotland Isle by Behr. I love the walls, but they really seem to clash with the tile. Is there anything I could do to coordinate the colors, or do I just need to repaint. If so, what color would you recommend? By the way, my cabinets are a light oak. Thanks!

Put some paint on a piece of foam core and try out some faux wall ideas-ie ragging or sponging-DIY network or HGTV has how-tos. Your green, though a pretty color might have to much of a yellow undeertone with the gray (witha purple one or pink) pull the gray back in with a sagey green on top of the other then a gray-really soft-I like ragging myself. Use one rag to put it on(your positive rag)-thin your paint down to pancake batter consistancy with water-use another rag (your negative rag)to blend and take it off-don’t work bigger than 2×2 or 3×3 to stay in control-keep the edges really transparent, wet, thinned out and you can overlap the next section and you won’t be able to tell. Practice on the foam core and start behind the fridge-that way you can cover any boo-boos and get the hang of it! Don’t just put one layer-the more you do-the softer and more perfectly imperfect it gets! Its actually fun-remember too-don’t daube it on in an arch-it will show-rag it on in up down, back forth and fill in-all over the area you are working-
