A Bit of Info About Candy Jars

When you are buying your customers something to show appreciation, make it something truly unique that they will want. You should buy your customers a great promotional gift because the better the promotional gift, the more it will be used and the more attention your promotional gift will get. So, why not give them something like a candy jar? Candy jars are part of many kitchens and when you get some great face time for your company name and logo on a kitchen candy jar, you help to keep your company profitable for years to come.

So, what are some things to know about jars?

The jar, often called a cookie jar, are used to store many different things including dog treats, coins, candy, cookies and more.

In North America, cookie jars are called jars while England calls them biscuit jars and they have been around since at least the 1700s. These jars were made of glass and would have metal lids. In the United States, candy jars became popular following the start of the Great Depression. These jars would be made of stoneware. These early jars would have simple cylindrical shapes and would have floral designs painted on them.

The first ceramic candy jar was created by the Brush Pottery Company of Ohio. This jar, even though also a candy jar, was green and had “Cookies” labeled on the front. As time went on, the jars would become very unique and beautiful, including some that showed images of books including Little Red Riding Hood. Many consider that the golden period for the candy/cookie jar was the 1940s to the 1970s.

Jars are great gifts for your customers because your customers will really appreciate the extra mile you went with the gift. The jars should have your company name and logo on them because you want to advertise your company within the customer’s home. To make the jar more personal for your customer, personalize it for them with their name. They will be happy to have something advertising your company in their kitchen when their own name is on it. In addition, for years to come, as many as 30 to 50 years, that candy jar will exist and it will continue to advertise your company. That means your company will keep getting business decades after you gave away the simple promotional gift of the candy jar.
