What you should know before buying your ceramic dinnerware!

The word ceramic is derived from "pot" which means "Keramos" the Greek word. The word was applied to a wide range of clay products for China better bones. Crockery and cutlery are just two categories often used by stores to describe the use of this range of pottery.

For the selection of the best buys is mainly based dishes on fashion. In today's fast moving world, where casual dining is the norm, our table service is often a reflection of our taste in food or environment in which we use. For example, Mexican food is served on plates decorated with brightly colored peppers, spices and other vegetables that reflects the type of food you can eat ..

However, the technical characteristics of the dishes are much more difficult to identify. First what type of pottery is what you buy? Is Glossary "> cotta earthenware, stoneware and porcelain? China often says on the box only, but it means nothing because it is just another generic term which implies that it is a pottery! But we know we're not going to do?

So how can we identify different types of pottery? One way is to look at the color of the body under the glaze shiny. The best place to do it in the bottom of the article, as is often the unglazed. For the pure whiteness, what follows is a general guide for color.

Bright red body red-brown clay

pale buff brownstone

Off China ivory

Porcelain white to blue

Pure creamy white bone china

China and bone may be more difficult to distinguish from rest by its translucency. This means that let the light pass thro the room. If you have a delicate piece porcelain or light, and the wave of his hand beween the plate and the light, you can see a shadow of your hand thro the room.

So now we know what kind of food you buy, what does? First, is a guide to the strength of the piece and how to break the resistance, cracking and failure. Second, is a guide to the cost. Manufacturers of high quality porcelain and China using highly sophisticated materials and processes "design" of whiteness, transparency and strength required by consumers.Consequently the cost is higher. However, due to the inherent strength would expect that this type of pottery to last longer in service!

As in life things are never that simple. Other Manufacturers of food types (terra cotta, stoneware and earthenware) to compensate for their lack of inherent strength to make parts thick. All Types elements can be decorated with colors so as not is the difference. Thus, the buyer has the option of purchasing less thick white or delicate white patterns!

chemical resistance to acids and detergents also be considered. Generally more dishes shot glass like porcelain and stoneware have inherent chemical durability and are lead-free, but not always case.Top marks now indicate their tests to BS or FDA, and to indicate its status labeling with "washing dishes" and target = "_self" title = "Why Lead Free?"> "lead free" or "no lead. "Purchaser notice must compare these tags to determine value for money.

In short, buying a washer can be nice! Armed with a little technical knowledge of the process can be much easier! At least equal weight to technical services in fashion design in the selection of ceramic tableware.

Suppose you're in sales techniques and are fully familiar with all the advantages and limitations of ceramics. Which of these markets, traditionally use ceramic materials, Do you think that ceramics can enter? What would you say to your prospects to visit the sales? What kind of questions do you think (customers) do you ask?>> Please help me do a test … please if you are aware and websites that will help me … Thank you!

I'm in technical sales, sales of ceramics. Good luck. It's a tough question. The most successful new products are ceramic creation of new markets with unique properties that other materials can not match. Ceramics have unique electrical properties, wear resistance and good stability against degradation thermal and chemical. Not survive mechanical shock well (or predictable), and are difficult to manufacture in a network.
